Our Story

Because "Honey" should mean Honey.

Most people think honey is just a predictable sweetener in a squeezy bottle. But if you’ve only ever bought yours from a supermarket shelf, you might not have tasted real honey at all.

At The Natural B, we started with a simple, slightly frustrated question: Why is it so hard to find out where our honey actually comes from? When we looked at the labels, we saw the same vague phrase everywhere: "A blend of non-EU honeys." That’s code for honey that has been ultra-filtered, heat-treated, and stripped of its soul to ensure it looks identical in every jar, in every city, forever.

We decided to do things differently.

Our Obsession: Unpasteurised & Unfiltered

We believe honey is a gift from the bees, not a manufactured commodity. To preserve the powerful enzymes, antioxidants, and local pollens that make honey a "superfood," it has to stay exactly as nature intended.

  • No High-Heat Pasteurisation: We never heat our honey above the natural temperature of the hive.
  • No Ultra-Filtration: We keep the good stuff in.
  • No Blending: Our honey isn't a cocktail of global exports. It is 100% British, 100% of the time.
A Note on "Raw": Due to changing regulations, we no longer use the term "raw" on our labels—but rest assured, nothing about the honey itself has changed. It remains the same pure, cold-extracted product it has always been.

Respect the Architect

The Natural B isn’t just a brand; it’s a tribute to the hardest workers on the planet. Bees are the silent architects of our ecosystem. Without them, our dinner plates would look very different.

We don't just "use" bees; we respect them. We work exclusively with British beekeepers who prioritise colony health over industrial quotas. By keeping it local, we support British biodiversity and ensure our carbon "wingprint" stays as small as possible.

The Two Paths of Honey

Feature The Supermarket Way The Natural B Way
Origin Anonymous blends from multiple continents. Traceable: 100% British.
Process Heat-treated to kill "impurities" (and nutrients). Cold-extracted: Keeps the enzymes alive.
Character Engineered for uniform colour and taste. Seasonal: Reflects the unique bloom of the year.

Three Expressions of the British Landscape

We want to be a company that finally gives the bees—and you—the respect you deserve. We’ve launched with three distinct varieties that capture a snapshot of the British countryside:

English Heather Honey

The "King of Honeys." Intense, floral, and aromatic, harvested from the rugged moors. It has a unique, jelly-like texture that is world-renowned.

Wildflower Runny Honey

Golden, clear, and classic. This is the taste of a British summer, perfect for drizzling over porridge or yogurt.

Creamy Soft Set Honey

For those who prefer a smooth, velvet-like texture. We gently encourage the natural crystallisation to create a honey that spreads like butter.

Looking for the perfect gift? Our curated Gift Box features a trio of all three, allowing you to taste the incredible diversity of British beekeeping in one sitting.
